In New York’s suburban and rural communities, where L.G.B.T.Q. people can feel more isolated, Pride events often hold special meaning. As 2mil+ attendees descend on The New York City Pride Parade on June 30th, it begs to ask - who are those bringing Pride to their hometown, and why is it more important than ever before?

Over the course of June, we visited Pride events all over the outer NY Metro area, from Patchogue to Lewisboro, to take a look at the events, meet the attendees, and showcase why representation in your hometown matters.
