How does a weekend news anchor who wakes up before dawn spend her Sunday? And how exactly does she manage to do it all?!

Shannan Ferry, who co-anchors “Weekends on 1” for NY1, wakes up at 1:47am for a full day of work, and follows it up with an even busier social calendar. From the moment we met, Shannan’s energy was palpable, and it’s easy to see why her (and co-anchor Rocco Vertuccio) are so loved by fans.

When asked if I was game for this assignment with the caveat being a 2am call time, I said YES THIS IS NO PROBLEM. What ensued was a day full of (my) sleep deprivation, lots of laughs, and awe at what a radiant delight Shannan is. The gift of spending 14 hours “seeing” someone is unique, and unlike any other shoot I’ve ever had; I am so grateful for the experience, and to now know Shannan.
